City commences with roadworks in Crawford

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate hereby advises residents, road users and businesses of roadworks in the Crawford area. The work has commenced this week and is anticipated to be completed by Tuesday, 9 April 2024, provided there are no unforeseen delays.
The work will be done on weekdays from 07:30 until 17:00, no night or weekend work is required.
‘The project includes the construction of a new parking embayment and sidewalk in Thornton Road between Camberwell Road and Kromboom Road. Residents in the vicinity of Crawford will benefit from the work. We thank residents for their patience while we are busy with the project,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
Traffic will be accommodated during the construction hours and where possible, detoured around the site. Road users are requested to use alternative routes during this period, if possible. Residents can also expect a level of noise during this time.
